This was an interesting sight for a Tuesday run. There were cars from the 1960s parked along South St to be used in the filming of MIB3.

South Street Seaport will host the 4Knots Music Festival

April 15, 2011

After the developers have taken over Coney Island, The Siren Music Festival, which was held in Coney Island for ten Summers, is no more. The Village Voice has decided to start a new festival at the South Street Seaport called the 4Knots Music Festival on July 16. This means it’s going to be a much smaller music festival. I don’t see how the Seaport can have two stages like the Siren Music Festival did in Coney Island. Another thing New Yorkers will miss is being capable of escaping to Coney Island for the music festival. But, the Voice will bring in big name indie rock acts.

Posts like these usually are posted at my other site NYCFreeConcerts.com. There you can find all of the Summer’s free concerts happening in New York City.

East River Waterfront Construction Progresses

July 21, 2010

The second phase of construction is about to begin along the East River waterfront in Lower Manhattan. The area to be constructed is from Whitehall Street to Rutgers Slip. The construction should finished and be open to the public by Spring 2012 Those who run and bike along the area will definitely enjoy the new waterfront promenade with separate areas for cyclists and pedestrians. There is a plan to have cyclists separated from pedestrians by a wall. But, this may be changed by Community Board 1.
